AT&T continues to mistreat its users who have kept their unlimited data plans—very likely the customers that have stuck with the company the longest. It’s ridiculous (who really uses FaceTime enough to make a difference?) but, sadly, not so surprising.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, not all versions of iOS 6 will be created equal—users of older devices such as the iPhone 4 will miss out on many of the core upgrades that make iOS 6 enticing. We can add FaceTime over 3G to that growing list, which also includes the best of the new Maps features.
Of course, jailbreakers have had this functionality for years already. But it’s a bit galling that Apple denies a feature that many apps in its own store—Skype, Tango, and others—provide. Let’s hope they don’t pull those apps from the market, like they did when they bought out Siri, then removed it from the app store to use for themselves.
